// Stop reusing active windows:

"Timmy & Lassie" made Sunday nights so special for my family, but then the show's producers added the Ranger and started having all-animal episodes. Things got very boring; around the same time, my mom started drinking heavily and becoming delusional; then I reached puberty, and had to leave the room to wack-off every 15 minutes. We didn't have much time for -- or interest in --"Lassie" post-Timmy.

BTY, Timmy & Lassie were fuckin' -- This I KNOW.

Do drop me a line some time.

well lets see x-men 2 it was ok. Their
was a lot of action in this one. Ahh
well i think jean dieing that way was a
good idea. I have one question though
on x-men three the last stand where did
night crawler go it is like he just
disspeared and i was very dissapointed
by that but other then that x-men three
wasn't so bad but out of all three i liked 1 and 3 the best number 2 was ok. my favorite characters are pyro i think he is just hilarious and cute and i also like bobby i think he is sweet and kind and really cute. So yah i also like lady deathstrike she is awesome and very good at fighting. Isn't she like wolverine's sister or something i don't know.I also like jean she isn't so sure which guy to choose should she choose cyclops the guy that is obsessed with her or should she choose wolverine who is also obsessed with her. To be honest i would choose wolverine he is so cuter and he is way cooler. I also like wolverine because i think he is cool and funny and i love how he is so sarcastic and mean to cyclops. I like the relationship logan and scott have. They both love jean they both hate each other they both are trying to impress jean so yah. One of them has to win jean over. I also like storm she is nice and very smart and i think she would make a way better leader then cyclops. So yes this is my comment on x-men bye bye talk to you till next time

Hmm... My adding of body{overflow:hidden;} to the stylesheet of various dhtml animations of late is causing Phoenix (and probably any Gecko-based browser) to display a blank page... Removing the overflow-property makes them work again.

Could it be this trick of hiding the scrollbars has the nasty effect of altering the width/height of the body- or html-object, thereby messing up my dhtml item placement routines?

Update:
Aha, adding height:2000px; (or another pixelvalue that's sure to be higher than the window height) to the body{...} style seems to fix things. Still, weird; I don't remember having to do this in earlier Mozilla versions.

1. posted by [unknown] at 21:38 on October 26, 2002

Does "height: 100%;" work as well? It's funny you mention this problem, seeing how I just ran into problems with "overflow: hidden;" on IE5Mac (applied to the html node)...

2. posted by milov at 21:48 on October 26, 2002

No, height:100% didn't have any effect, because (I'm guessing) that would be 100% of 0px = 0px.

It sure looks cool; though 'bright blue lights' really associates (at least me) with a you-can't-see-your-arteries-zone.

That gives me another feeling about cool.

Nevertheless, as a piece of art, its purple glow, as mentioned in the third picture, is pretty alienating and therefore intriguing.

I've taken to using
setTimeout(function(){tick(t+1);}, 55);
instead of
setTimeout('tick('+(t+1)+')', 55);
since it's less eval-esque and doesn't require escaping and messy parenthesizing.

I made a quick-n-dirty JavaScript bookmarklet to convert hex coded strings to ASCII text. Paste the hex strings from the quotes page linked above, section "WouterD & HazT on Hex-editing":

javascript:var s1 = prompt('Hex String? [can contain spaces between hex pairs]', ''); if (s1) { var s2 = '', buffer = ''; for (var i = 0; i < s1.length; i++) { var c = s1.substr(i, 1); if (c.match(new RegExp('[0-9A-Za-z]'))) { buffer += c; if (buffer.length == 2) { if (parseInt(buffer) == 0) {buffer = "20"}; s2 += String.fromCharCode(parseInt('0x' + buffer)); buffer = ''; } } }; alert(s2); }

Wow: for the first time I made a bookmarklet that works in IE as well, without additional tinkering. Of course it still fucks up the location bar contents by URL-encoding it. [spam] http://www.mozilla.org/ [/spam]

Just you wait until I get my own blog ready! I'll bookmarklet you all to death!
Erm, that should read: I'd appreciate it if you would come on over.
