It's nice to see posts like these. I'm really into anime & Japan the last couple of months and I won't mind if you post a lot more japanese-tagged items.

Just to "prove" my Japan-o-philia (as if that's necessary...), my watched-anime-list: http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=myvotes&uid=91915&orderby=vote&orderdir=1

For my Nihongo skills I use this site: http://www.nihongoresources.com/
Currently I have mastered the hiragana, so the katakana are next, I guess!

If you have any tips or suggestions, please don't hesitate. :)

4. posted by Milo at 23:38 on August 28, 2005

Heheh, I happen to be compiling a list of watched-animes myself, will post it soon. But lately I've been watching even more Japanese movies than anime series... thanks to sites like http://www.midnighteye.com/ and http://www.twitchfilm.net/ .

One handy site I use occasionally is http://www.jchar.com/ - converts Roman alphabets to Japanese Hiragana/Katakana characters.

And here's something I've been working on, a Javascript-based hiragana/katakana trainer:

What I was actually photographing before I spotted 3215 in the background...

1. posted by Jan de Leeuw van weenen at 10:27 on August 27, 2005

Remember the ep where Mugen and Jin read Fuu's diary? At the end of each entry she makes a remark about what she ate, and always ends with something like "Oshikata!". :)

Saying something is delicious in present tense would be "oishii desu yo".

I'm a freak. That photo made me think to "Portmeirion state" by MattCurrent on GBA presented at the Assembly'05 ( http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=18337 )

Still i wonder what is the partial star on the windshield.

2. posted by Milo at 20:44 on August 08, 2005

From a distance it looked like a pebble crack in the windshield, which shocked the owner of the (new) car a little :)

I sort of see it as an arrow pointing up to a line, deliniating a particular distance/area up from the hood of the car to the line.
