Oh wow. Not only do these images have a great aesthetic valye to them (they do), they also bring a sense of nostalgia (I spend a lot of time at Kijkduin in my life, especially as a kid). Very, very nice.

Although many different animals have been featured here, I think this is actually the first time I've posted a photo of a fish (not counting plastic ones). A day of particularly clear water in the sloot provided this rare opportunity.
The slope of the roof is interresting. With the perspective, it's almost aligned with the front of the building. And the dark color gives a precious aspect.
first I thought the bright part in the upper right was a window, a blue wall and a yellow wall, with some machinery attached to it.
How often your mind tries to find a mental picture when looking at things...
Strange, when I saw the first picture, I thought it was the outside of a building, shot from the street. After I'd seen the other two, I can't seem to get that impression again, no matter how hard I try. Very nice pictures!
But what I'm really wondering is if it looks 3D to anyone (to me it almost looked like the stack comes up out of the monitor, and I tried to crop it to that effect)
nah, I have a one-click delete option for every commentmail I get... on the whole, building a registration system would take more time; not to mention inconvenience visitors.
That's a freakishly good photo. One of my favorites in some time. It just conveys an emotional feeling that both complements and transcends the cleverness of the composition.

I like the composition, the colored pipes and human form shadow but in my opinion, the sky isn't nice for that kind of picture...
You know, I think if the sky were more 'picture perfect' it would destroy the photo. There's already more than adequate light to make the photo crisp and hyperreal. But without the funky sky, it would seem more of a technical excercise than the powerful photo it is now. I really like it.

well, i wasnt referring to "picture perfect" idea. im looking at other perspective than technical aspect (lights and all that), i like mysterious and contrast things but its just not quite the right mysterious sky..hehehe....it is very confusing to explain my emotional feelings.... =)
hupthur: I figured you might comment on those. What I wasn't expecting was that you had actually skated there. :)

yeah eventhough i was more of an amsterdam skater (the RAI!), i still went to rotterdam at times. rotterdam always had and still has the best skatespots of holland. we can thank the germans for this! if they didnt flatten rotterdam in the war, we would have never had so many modern skatespots in town!
i forgot why exactly these skatestoppers came about at the weena, but it had something to do with the fact that the then major of rotterdam had an appartment at the weena, where he used to bring his 'girlfriends' to. i guess he didnt like the fact we could have fun for free and he had to pay to have some 'tension relief'.
