February 2002 (continued)

One problem with using public transportation, convenient as it is, is that you're repeatedly confronted with huge, offensive billboards advertising tobacco. Last December saw a particularly good one:

Seasons Greetings from Marlboro Country

Wtf do they mean by that?! Something like: Merry Christmas, we hope you'll buy plenty of our products before you die from using them as they were intended ?

Smokers suck... (literally)

January 2002

Come to where the flavor is...

These days, I code in #C0C0C0 on #000000.... don't need no bright white background and distracting syntax-highlighting colours.

Browser interface idea: when you press [Home], you jump to the top of the page. Wouldn't it be nice to then be able to press [Home] again to jump back to your previous scroll position? Same goes for [End]...

Oups! Don't print a page with a black background when you've activated the 'Print background images and colors' option! Well, nice printer test, anyway...

For a while I had trouble holding my Graphire2 pen steady long enough to make tooltips appear when hovering over items. I have since learned to simply lift the pen up high after positioning the cursor.

Mailing lists and vacation auto-responders are a dangerous combination...

argh.. second day home sick..

Wat hebben die weblog-tools toch eigenlijk mooie namen: 'Pivot', 'Nucleus', 'Movable Type', 'Greymatter'.

September 2001

Heh... 'right before I left'.

By the way, I've returned from my vacation in Portimão, Portugal (the previous post neglected to mention where I was going, sorry). Currently opening and reading a *lot* of familiar and new weblogs to find out what people wrote and experienced this past crazy week. This is gonna take me a while...

idea: generate a calendar-view of all my entries, colouring the days from white to red depending on the amount of text posted on a given day, and seeing what patterns emerge.

Yay! My cable-modem is back online!

todo: make the list of names next to the comment link clickable urls also, instead of static html.

referrer-pages be fun. here's my extended referrer listing, btw: milov.nl/?vista=referrers

Those icons to the left are clickable, by the way.

Hey, it's august 12, my birthday!
(Coincidentally the same day as Martijn's.)

I lost my watch a couple of days ago. Luckily, the alarm is set to go off daily at 21:15. Which gives me 20 seconds each day to try and locate it by sound, or wait for the next day.

Today, I found it.

Using a green pen makes writing so much more fun...

You know, those Windows 'Save as' dialog boxes could really use a type-able address bar, like in regular Explorer...

Hard to believe I've only had this new template online since last week... Seems much longer.

Fun thing to do late at night: walking thru an empty shopping mall, pretending you're living in a deserted, post-apocalyptic city...
