November 2003

New background image: 'Small City Lights' (reload if you still see the old one), featuring the building of 2335 and the bridge of 1639.

Don't know how long it will last; it sort of forces me to add some colour to the rest of the design (which is looking awfully grayscale at the moment) to balance it out.

this image is definatly nicer =)

Very nice indeed, blends perfectly with the rest :)

Silly Europeans, it's spelled color! Without a "u"! ;)

milov wrote on 2003/11/10:
Well, I suppose I'm allowed to choose from either spelling considering I don't live in an English-speaking country; and writing 'kleur' wouldn't make much sense to non-Dutch visitors. So I picked England because it's closest.

I like the spelling that involves less letters. Less to think about ;)

But what does one do when trying to decide whether to spell it "Civilization" or "Civilisation"?

Hard choice there!

That's obvious: use the official Microprose spelling: http://www.mobygames.com/game/covers/gameCoverId,801/gameId,585/
(I learned most of my English while playing early 90s PC games.)

For what's the html>body{background:none}? Opera 6/7 displays a black background due to this.

milov wrote on 2003/11/10:
Hmm, you're right, have to look into that. The html>body thing was an attempt to fix the background/margins in Mozilla after my switch to application/xhtml+xml, based on a tip at http://www.annevankesteren.nl/archives/2003/08/13/html-id#c000062
The browser is supposed to show the background-image assigned to the html-element.
