I remember reading the original concept for the series in early 2003, describing their desire to communicate the feel of watching the action from hand-held cameras in the ships themselves. They really delivered on it.
I've seen all 13 eps now, so I'll have to wait a while to find out how the story continues... :/

Also, it doesn't have quite the same dedication to no-sound-in-vacuum-of-space as Firefly, but I like how they have kept it to a minimum.
Also, the company responsible for the cgi really mimic the Firefly style with all the zooming and panning.
