July 2001

The Friezlog is now table-less (with a biiig background image!). Also check out his page on Learning Foreign Languages through weblogging.

Can someone explain me what this 'table-less'-stuff is all about?
Perhaps I don't understand, but what's wrong with tables?

Tables...
- have to be loaded completely before page is displayed;
- reduce readability in text-only browsers;
- fix order of loading (with divs you can load rightcol before leftcol);
- were never really meant for page-layout;
- work in Netscape 4. ;-)

You may use the COLGROUP and COL tag to let the user agent render the table incrementally.

In my opinion some style, form and location of (navigational) elements is more preserved by using a table.

Oops, are we talking layout ;-)

btw:
In IE6beta I can not select any text on your page, in IE5.5 I can.
