How can I avoid the datalimit of inserting textfiles into TEXTAREAs? It seems the submit button doesnt respond when entering large quantities of data. |

How big are these texts? I've successfully inserted multi-megabyte-sized textfiles (sql-dumps) into textareas... The browser seemed to freeze for a while, but eventually the submission was successful.

yes, really weird. I have tried to import large quantities of data in phpMyAdmin too, and that works. My textarea form elements, which are really no different when it comes to HTML code, refuse to submit. (the button seems to be 'void', the browser doesnt even try to submit it) |

It seems like textarea used with POST methods are limited at 64k of data. I'm looking for a way to pass throught this limitation. Any help ?

for me it works wonderfully might be an option in your server (apache/IIS) or a proxy inbetween but I have never heard of a limit lower than 2MB..

I had the same problem: when I enter more than about 30K of text, the submit button does not respond.

I don't know if anyone still reads this thread but i have recently hit the same problem of the submit button frezzing when you enter large amounts of data. Did anyone ever solve this problem? |

Im not sure if this will work but one thing u can try to do is <textarea ... bla bla bla...> <!--#include "bunch_o_text.txt"--> </textarea> or something along those lines on serverside include |

Hello I had the same problem, but I found out that the limitation was caused by the wrong definition of the table in the MySQL. I changes the type from text to the longtext and the problem was solved. I experience that the browser goes numb, but it does its job, and the text is delivered to the script and is saved correctly in the table. I hope that it helps. Sincerely yours Babak |
